As I’ve mentioned in a couple of other post, one of my favorite local resources for small business owners in the Louisville and Southern Indiana area is The Kentuckiana Business Forum. The November 2008 issue is available now at local businesses around town. This issue is great. It is all about marketing and branding your small business. The experts in this month’s issue have advice about everything from the fifth ‘P’ of Marketing to Building Your Brand.

I’d like to take some time to refer to my favorite article in the November 2008 issue, it’s about building your brand and it was written by Christy Stanfield and Michael Ashcraft both of TKT & Associates, Inc. They are experts at helping small businesses grow by developing programs to increase their competitiveness.

Also, the domain name should be as short as possible so that your customers can remember it easily. When considering your domain name, get input from professionals who can provide insight into the impact of your choice.”

“You do not have to offer a complicated, multi-page website in order to create a positive brand image. A home page with your mission statement, values, a description of your products or services and your contact information is a good start. Your website can be developed more fully as you increase your marketing budget.”
